BIO
Alfia Koral (Alfiia Korchagina) was born in 1981 in Ufa, Russia. Alfia left Russia in 2022 and moved to Mersin, Turkey. In 2024 she was endorsed for the Global Talent Visa by British Art Council. Currently, Alfiya is completing all her affairs in Turkey and moving to London, UK, where she will reside and pursue her artistic practice.
She is specializing in oil painting, with a style that combines impressionism and realism, and also experiments in abstract painting, developing his own unique style.
Alfiya studied art since childhood at an art school, after she took several courses in academic painting and graphics, specialized course in oil painting technology of the Old Masters, studied contemporary art at the Moscow HSE Art and Design School.
Studying and experimenting in various artistic practices influenced the developing her very distinctive artistic style, based on the physical properties of oil paint, which introduce an element of spontaneity and uncertainty into the final result, creating the effect of unusual color mixtures and bizarre textures, while forming recognizable associative images.
The main theme of Alfia's practice is mindfulness and living life in the present moment, the ability to awaken and emerge from the daily routines and patterns of one's own thinking, and to realize the priceless value of every moment, the multifaceted and mystical splendor of the world.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I see my mission as an artist in capturing the viewer's attention, lifting them out of their everyday reality, and awakening their "perception receptors of life."
Art provides an opportunity to clear the blurred vision, clouded by the endless flow of information that merges into a monotonous irritant, inevitably coarsening our perception. Vibrant colors, accents, details, bold brushstrokes, and the impact of the palette knife engage and hold the viewer's attention, emotionally captivating them. It offers a glimpse of the multifaceted nature of life, which becomes particularly acute in the face of death.
We are accustomed to take this world for granted - the natural environment, which gives us absolutely everything, the achievements of human civilization, intellectual, technological, cultural heritage. We forget to appreciate and cherish it. Instead of making maximum efforts to preserve the treasures that surround us, people allow man-made disasters, unleash wars.
Friends, look up at the sky, take a moment to observe your surroundings, look into each other's eyes. Let's emerge together from the grayness that has engulfed us, the colorless routine of unconscious living – embracing the singular and irreplaceable life, so fatally finite.
